Invest

Invest in Manchester’s First Community Supported Bakery and be part of a new, innovative, independent, neighbourhood bakery in the Ancoats area of central Manchester. Companio Bakery makes artisan breads, savouries and pastries to sell from its bakery premises as well as being taken by bicycle to sell to commuters at train stations in the city.

Community Supported Baking means so much more than just going to the High Street to buy bread. For a bakery to be Community-Supported there must be a greater level of involvement and commitment. By making a pledge, loan or subscription, the customer helps the baker to put an artisan bakery into the heart of their community.

So far an amazing £22,000 has been loaned from individuals in the community to help with the set-up and fit-out of Companio Bakery’s premises in Ancoats. Building works including electricity, water and lighting are complete. A large bread oven and bakery table have been installed but I still need a further £8,000 to reach my overall target of £30,000. This will enable me to buy a large spiral mixer for mixing the bread doughs, a large commercial fridge for retarding the doughs overnight and a pastry dough sheeter for making patisserie.
